Merino wool is not only insulating, but also wicks moisture away from the body and retains heat even when moist, thanks to the structure of the fibers. Merino wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in water before it starts to feel wet.
The yarn is superwash treated to withstand frequent machine washing.
Our supplier has guaranteed that the wool we buy does not come from sheep that have been subjected to mulesing.
Due to the absorbent properties of merino wool in combination with superwash treatment, we recommend that the garment be washed separately on the wool program, to ensure the most gentle treatment. For the same reason, it is important to centrifuge the garment well before drying it flat, preferably on top of a towel. Never use a laundry bag when washing hand-knitted wool garments. This creates friction that can cause the garment to felt.
